Welcome! My name is Alicia Santiago (she/her) of Just Beyond Yourself Therapy. I created Just Beyond Yourself to support folks in untangling trauma histories—the stories of what happened to them—and in processing and integrating psychedelic experiences when relevant. I offer a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space for this work. I cannot do the work for you, but I will support you in navigating it with guidance, compassion, and curiosity.
Therapeutic Approach
I believe each of us has an internal source of wisdom that can be cultivated through therapy, mindfulness, movement, and other mind–body practices. My work is grounded in mindfulness, compassion, and curiosity, and integrates clinical training with contemplative practice in a relational, trauma-informed framework.
I am a certified EMDR therapist and IFS-informed clinician, supporting gentle exploration of “parts” work for deeper healing. I also provide ketamine-assisted psychotherapy for individuals seeking relief from depression, anxiety, or trauma, and I offer psychedelic integration support to help clients make meaning of non-ordinary states of consciousness—even when ketamine sessions are not part of treatment.
My approach is warm, collaborative, strengths-based, and attuned to the social, cultural, and systemic contexts that shape lived experience. I have taken the North Star Ethics Pledge and am committed to integrity, safety, and ethical care in the psychedelic therapy space.
Biography
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker originally from Southern California and currently based in Northern Colorado, on the traditional lands of the Ute, Arapaho, and Cheyenne peoples. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies from San Diego State University and a Master of Social Work from California State University, Dominguez Hills, with a specialization in community mental health.
I am a certified EMDR therapist with additional training in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). I also hold teacher-in-training status in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) through UC San Diego. I am a devoted meditation practitioner, yogi, and student of contemplative and embodied practices.
II am deeply grateful to my teachers along this path—clinical supervisors, consultants, meditation, movement and yoga teachers, colleagues, my own therapist, and the many wise healers who have supported my growth. I also hold gratitude for Indigenous healers and lineage holders whose traditions have contributed to broader understandings of healing and relational care, as well as to my ancestors, clients, and all those who continue to shape my understanding of this work. This work is both a privilege and an ongoing practice of learning.
